Why is this program unique?
Heart Centered Montessori's toddler program will help each child reach his/her full potential. The young child develops in so many different ways and our toddler program will help in the development of social skills and independence as well as emotional, cognitive and physical growth. Our classroom is child-directed and carefully prepared to encourage the child to explore and learn what they are curious about at any given time in their development. The furniture and materials in the classroom are all child-sized to allow for the child’s success. The skilled adults in the classroom help provide a loving, safe and positive atmosphere in which the child is free to move and work within the environment.

How does the classroom work?
The Montessori classroom is based on the freedom within limits principle. The child will work at their own pace with materials they have chosen, with guidance from the teachers. They may work alone or with others. Creativity will flourish in this atmosphere of acceptance and trust. Each child is an individual and treated with respect.

What are the benefits of a Montessori toddler program?
A Montessori toddler program allows a child to learn and grow in an environment that is carefully prepared to suit their developmental needs. The program gives the child the freedom to choose within limits and to “do it themselves” which is very important in developing positive self esteem and confidence. The teachers in this program nurture the child’s autonomy and model respect for themselves, the children and the whole community.
